Kingsbarns Balcomie

Presenting Balcomie, a delightful sherried release from Kingsbarns, distilled using locally-grown barley from Fife. This whisky has been exclusively matured in American oak butts that previously held Oloroso sherry, resulting in a harmonious blend of richer, spicy notes from the sherry and sweeter, tropical nuances from the oak. A commendable offering from the Lowland distillery. The aroma greets with nuances reminiscent of cinnamon scrolls and hot cross buns, accompanied by a drizzle of maple syrup and dried cherry. Upon tasting, one encounters flavours of pineapple upside-down cake, marmalade, and further cinnamon, with a subtle hint of cocoa. The finish reveals lingering notes of apricot jam and chocolate-coated nuts.
